Ron Capps and his NAPA AUTO PARTS Funny Car team led by Rahn Tobler made a bold statement Sunday in the NHRA FallNationals at the Texas Motorplex near Dallas.
NAPA is proud to continue its NHRA Drag Racing sponsorship in the 2016 NHRA season. NAPA will be the primary sponsor of the NAPA Dodge Charger RT Funny Car driven by Ron Capps and owned by the Don Schumacher Racing Team, one of the elite teams of the NHRA.
Owner Don Schumacher founded his top fuel dragster team in 1998 with his son Tony as the driver. The Don Schumacher Racing organization has since captured top honors in this fast-paced sporting arena, earning an unprecedented four consecutive and five overall NHRA Top Fuel Dragster World Championship titles and one NHRA Funny Car, World Championship crown.
Don Schumacher is a champion in business and in racing. An NHRA Champion driver in the 1970s, “The Shoe” developed a three-car team long before NHRA Drag Racing became a staple on national television. He left racing in 1974 and spent the next 25 years building Schumacher Electric Corp. into the world’s largest supplier of battery chargers. He now directs more than 1,200 employees worldwide from his headquarters in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. Schumacher’s business savvy and tireless work ethic have developed Schumacher Electric into a major force in the consumer electronics industry. Schumacher Electric battery chargers, inverters, portable power units and custom transformers can be found on NAPA Auto Parts store shelves.
NAPA’s presence will be seen at all NHRA Full Throttle race events and we look forward to hoisting NHRA’s event winner’s trophy, “the Wally,” with Ron Capps and Don Schumacher Racing!
